Countryman Fairs profile of field sports competitions in 2017 is sure to raise a few eyebrows. Working alongside Chudleys Dog Food we will once again be able to give the Championship a radical overhaul, and further expand the world’s most lucrative gundog competition, the Chudleys Gundog Championship.
The Chudleys Gundog Championship is one of the most popular competitions of all the championship events. Year on year it continues to draw in hundreds of handlers and their dogs eager to take part.
The only competition of its kind, this Championship aims to discover the finest talent in the world of Scurry and Working Test handlers, and proves quite lucrative for the winning competitor too. The Championship will test the mettle of the finest of handlers in a Grand Final in the Working Dog Arena on the Sunday of the Midland Game Fair. The Final will see the top handler in each discipline compete head to head in order to be crowned the Chudleys Gundog Champion 2017.
All you need to do to enter the 2017 Chudleys Gundog Championship is enter the Gundog Scurry Victor Ludorum or Working Test at any Countryman Fairs qualifying event. It’s that simple! The Victor Ludorum is your best aggregate time over all 5 senior gundog scurries.
Re-entries are permitted in the gundog events in 2017, so don’t worry if you get the odd slow time as you can always have another go! You can enter both the gundog scurries and working test, but you can only qualify once in any year, and your first qualification counts regardless of the class. Please ensure your dog is available to run in the Grand Final before attempting qualification as there can be no substitutions!
Scurry participants and spectators can welcome back firm family favourites like the Short Fence, Long Retrieve and Up n Over whilst looking forward to its newest of runs the Partridge Pen. A great Championship to take part in or to simply watch, this year’s events promise a fantastic season of competition and, as ever, will crown a new victorious winner for 2017 at the Midland Game Fair in September.
